Ed Kashi, Ben a black rhino bull in the Palmwag concession of the northern Namibian desert. The rhinos sometimes move in packs of up to 6, but usually they are solitary. Rhinos are known to cover 2500sq kms in search of food and can go without water for 4 days. Since the founding of the Save the Rhino Trust 20 years ago, Rhino populations have more than doubled. Poaching is on a decline and many convicted poachers are now employed by the Trust to bring their extensive Rhino knowledge to good use. |
